What’s staffing to do?

Staffing Institute Staff

We’ve noted that some organizations have made a conscious decision not to layoff recruiters even though their staffing workload has decreased dramatically.  This decision may be heralded as a brilliant strategy when the war for talent resumes.

Although they may not be recruiting as much, we’re hearing that these recruiters are still making significant contributions including:

  • Thoroughly reviewing and revising as appropriate other function job responsibilities and the associated performance outcomes.
  • Taking on projects that other departments don’t have the resources to address.
  • Maintaining relationships with colleges and universities and other candidate sources.
  • Maintaining staffing blogs and instruments that will be used to let candidates know when hiring commences.
  • Maintaining blogs and other resources to help ex-employees find other employment.

We’re not sure if it’s progressive organizations or progressive staffing, but it now seems as if there’s always work for staffing to do.
